Many farmers and trade partners participated in the event to witness the benefits of the hybrid. Besides showcasing the high yielding seeds, Monsanto also felicitated 10 farmers for their significant contribution towards sustainable farming.

Farmers in Bihar have always preferred Seminis® seeds for their uniform and heavy fruit setting, faster maturity and increased yields. The "Abhilash" variety of Seminis® hybrid is characterised by shiny red fruits and its exceptional resistance to Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus (TYLCV) which is a major challenge for vegetable farmers.

With "Abhilash," farmers can grow plants having an excellent fruit bearing capacity."

Monsanto’s field teams, 80 per cent of them from rural backgrounds, constantly engage with farmers to provide inputs on best crop management practices, enabling secure and optimum yields.

Santosh Kumar, a farmer from, Buxar District said, "Apart from the excellent hybrids, Monsanto team also imparts knowledge on the best agronomic practices like spacing, nursery management, pest & disease management practices. This has helped me immensely in getting a good output from my field."

With an objective to demonstrate new concepts and technologies to various stakeholders, Monsanto has established Centres of Excellence (CoEs) across the country. At these CoEs, farmers witness techniques for Integrated Weed Management, Technology Showcasing, High – Density & Mechanical Planting, Weed Control and Crop Diversification amongst others.
