WILL forum awarded Monsanto Best Employer for Women

As part of the Diversity &Inclusion effort in India, we went through an external benchmarking (WILL Forum) process to help understand where we are as a company and also take the learning’s forward in the D & I journey. The survey was sent to  an employee base that constitutes of 50% women and 50% men.

Based on the benchmarking process, our culture and some of the practices have been recognized and we were given an award for the Best Employers in Women.

Some of the areas where we scored in the high 90s in the survey that were called out:

·        Gender neutral hiring and promoting processes

·        Gender Sensitive Culture - A healthy and respectful workplace for women

·        Equal Employment Opportunity Company

·        Work Life Balance & Paternity Leave Support

·        Safety of Women & Men

 The award and the areas is a reflection of the overall strong culture we have build and would give us a more energy as we focus on the Inclusion journey.

Karnataka State Recognition for Inclusion Efforts

Every year the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and the Government of Karnataka come together to recognize IT/ITES companies under various categories of excellence as a part of their coveted ‘IT Export Awards’.  This banner of awards has been in existence for the past 15 years to promote growth & desirable business/people processes in this fastest growing industry of the country.

Continuously for two years in a row now (2012-13 & 2013-14), Monsanto Holdings Pvt. Ltd has been chosen by the jury, as the recipient of the “STPI IT Export Award“ for employing the Highest % of differently – abled employees  in the state of Karnataka. This is year the award function was held on Thursday, 13th November, 2014. We received the award this year  from S.R Patil (Hon’ble  minister for information technology &biotechnology Govt ofkarnataka), Dr.Omkar Rai (Director general software technology parks of India).Dr, Andreas gruchow (member board Deutsche Mese AG).

Monsanto India included in the Great Place to Work India ‘HALL OF FAME’ and Ranked No 1 in the Biotech and Pharma Industry

Monsanto India has been selected as one of the “Best Companies to Work For” in India in 2014, according to the Great Places to Work® survey.

The Great Place to Work® (GPTW) Institute is a pioneer in studying and recognizing the best workplaces around the world. Over 600 companies across 20 industries participated in the study this year, making it one of the largest such studies in India.

Out of the 600 companies, Monsanto India ranked 35 overall. In addition, Monsanto India ranked “No. 1 in the Industry” for the Biotech and Pharmaceuticals industry. GPTW presented the award to Monsanto India at a gala event in Mumbai on June 27, 2014. 

“As we grow our business and prepare for exciting times as an organization, it is indeed an achievement to be placed in the Top 50 employers,” said Gyanendra Shukla, India Regional lead. “It is a matter of honor for each one of us that Monsanto India has been recognized among the best employers eight out of the last eleven years that GPTW conducted the survey.” 

Due to the consistent achievement, Great Place to Work® inducted Monsanto India into the “GPTW India Hall of Fame” this year as well. A feat which very handful of companies such as Google, Marriott have achieved.

Based on the responses, the highlights of the Monsanto survey overwhelmingly stated immense pride in our organization’s contribution to society and our culture—which promotes freedom, collaboration and innovation as our key strengths. Our focus on safety and belief in values of Monsanto were among the other top highlights.
