Monsanto India installs RO Water Filtration Equipment at Government School in Kallinayakanahalli


Local communities to get access to clean and safe drinking water

Kallinayakanahalli, Karnataka, June 5, 2013: Students and staff members of the Government School in Kallinayakanahalli along with the villagers were very happy today as the World Environment Day ushered-in an effective solution to access clean and safe drinking water for them. 

The Government School in Kallinayakanahalli today received Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Filtration Equipment from Monsanto India, a leading agriculture company providing technology – based solutions and products that improve farm productivity, as part of its Human Rights & Water Initiative.

The RO water filtration equipment, supplied and installed by Monsanto India, will focus on utilising the benefits of this RO plant, to provide safe drinking water in the area.

Besides, Monsanto India, in continuation to its commitment to improve the quality of education for the community in and around its area of operations, also provided 10 desks to the authorities of the Government School.   

The installation of the RO Water Filtration Equipment and distribution of desks took place in the august presence of Shri Byappa Reddy, Block Education Officer, Education Department, Government of Karnataka; Shri Diwakar, Scientist, Ground Water Authority, Mines and Geology, Government of Karnataka; officials from Gram Panchayat; students, villagers and Monsanto employees.

Shri Byappa Reddy, Block Education Officer, Education Department, Government of Karnataka, while inaugurating the event said, “I applaud Monsanto India for taking this initiative to improve the drinking water conditions in the region and help improving the educational establishment by providing the necessary infrastructural support to the school. This initiative will surely encourage the students and will help provide healthy and safe drinking water to the students and local communities which will contribute to better health conditions.

It is indeed a great initiative by Monsanto which will ensure clean drinking water to our people” added Shri Diwakar, Scientist, Ground Water Authority, Mines and Geology, Government of Karnataka.
